Generations will remember services of Covid warriors: Union Health Minister 

E-inaugurates 5 Addiction Treatment Facility Centers in Kashmir

Baramulla: Under Prime Ministers Nasha Mukht Bharat Abiyan, Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare and Chemicals and Fertilizers Mansukh Mandaviya Sunday e-inaugurated five Addiction Treatment Facility (ATF) Centres from Regional Institute of Health and Family Welfare Dhobivan, Baramulla for five district hospitals.

A spokesperson of Directorate of Health Services Kashmir said these ATFs include one each for Budgam, Bandipora, Pulwama, Shopian and Kulgam districts.

The Minister was on a two day visit to Baramulla district as part of Government of India’s public outreach program aiming at getting feedback about to basic infrastructure by a series of new developmental projects.

The Minister also presided over a felicitation ceremony where he felicitated all the Chief Medical Officers across Kashmir division on behalf of all COVID-19 warriors for their remarkable services during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The spokesman said the Minister named the Covid warriors as the real gems of the country who worked tirelessly and selflessly for the well-being of the people.

Mansukh Mandaviya said that their valuable services of Covid warriors shall be remembered for generations to come adding that the whole nation is indebted to their extraordinary service.

Speaking on the occasion, Director Health Services Kashmir Dr Mushtaq Ahmed Rather said that they were happy by the visit of the minister. Earlier the director welcomed Shri Mansukh Mandaviya at the function. “We are very happy about his visit,” the director said.

The Director also hailed the Covid warriors who worked with commitment and dedication to save the people which is their biggest contribution to the nation as whole.

Additional Chief Secretary Health and Medical Education Department, Vivek Bhardwaj, Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Chief Medical Officers and officials of the health department were present on the occasion.

…Inaugurates various developmental projects

As a part of the Union Government’s public outreach programme for Jammu and Kashmir, the Union Minister of State for Home Affairs and Youth Affairs and Sports, Nisith Pramanik today visited Pulwama.

The Minister e-inaugurated various developmental project including Multipurpose Indoor Stadium Bajwani Tral, ISM Building Larve Kakpora, Sub Centre Gulshanpora, Library Block cum additional classroom GDC Tral, and various roads from, Wuiyan, Shalwani, Wahipora Pirtakia, Abu Turab and slaughter house at Awantipora.

The Minister also laid e-foundation of Nowdal Dadsara Naibugh Road, Gusso Deeri Road, Aglar Gujjarbasti Kanigam road, and Pulwama Monghama road.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has asked all the ministries of Government of India to work in tandem for the overall development of the UT of J&K. He said that PM Modi is very keen to pace up the developmental tempo of the UT for which the Central Government has a separate blueprint.

The Minister said that the Central Government has taken up a series of developmental schemes and individual benefit programmes which aim to ensure overall socio economic development of the people of this UT. He added that the PSUs are also conducting a series of training programs for the unemployed youth of J&K.

The Minister also met different stakeholders, including vegetable farmers, Traders Federation Pulwama, Industrial Association IGC Lassipora, saffron growers and NRLM beneficiaries who apprised him about their demands and grievances.

The Minister gave a patient hearing and expressed happiness over the meeting held with the delegations. He said that the Union Government has a good dream for development of Jammu and Kashmir, adding that the present out-reach programme has been initiated by the Government to know the basic problems of the people at the ground.

He assured that the demands and grievances projected by the delegations have been taken note of and the same would be put up with Government at Union level as well as with Lieutenant Governor for their timely redressal.

The Minister said that the Union Government under the leadership of PM Modi is dedicated to pace up the developmental scenario of the UT and drastic changes will be witnessed by the people in the coming days.

The Minister said that the Government of India has already been working on various flagship programmes aimed to develop socio-economic status of the people and a number of new schemes are also in the pipeline.

Impressed with the positive and cooperative attitude of different sections of the people, the Union Minister said that everyone has to play a part for boosting the development tempo.
