Politicians condemn

Srinagar: The leaders of political parties in Jammu and Kashmir including the former chief ministers of erstwhile J&K State Friday condemned the killing of a policeman in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district.

National Conference President Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Vice President Omar Abdullah condemned the killing of Railway Protection Force Constable Bantoo Sharma near Wanpoh, Kulgam.

“I condemn the brutal killing of a railway police constable and express heartfelt sympathies with his family and friends. I pray for eternal peace to the departed,” Dr Farooq said in a statement.

In a tweet while condemning the killing, Omar Abdullah said, “I Unequivocally condemn the militant attack in Kulgam. My heartfelt condolences to the family and colleagues of Constable Bantoo Sharma of Railway Protection Force who was killed in the line of duty. May his soul rest in peace. ,” he said.

Among others Party General Secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar, Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani, South Zone President Dr Bashir Veeri, Ab Majeed Larmi and other party functionaries have also condemned the incident and prayed for strength to bereaved family to bear the loss.

PDP president and former chief minister, Mehbooba Mufti also condemned the killing.

“Very sorry to hear about the terrorist attack in Kulgam today that claimed yet another innocent life. Deepest condolences & prayers with Bantoo Sharma ji’s family. May his soul rest in peace,” Mehbooba tweeted.

Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) president Ghulam Ahmad Mir also condemned the killing of a cop.

“Strongly condemn the killing of a policeman in Kulgam,” JKPCC Chief tweeted.

Peoples Conference Chairman, Sajad Gani Lone in a tweet also condemned the killing.

“Strongly condemn the killing of a police man in Kulgam. May Allah give patience to the family of Bantu Sharma to bear this loss. And May the killers rot in hell,” Lone tweeted.

CPI (M) senior leader and former Kulgam legislator, Muhammad Yousuf Tarigami also condemned the killing of a cop, saying that the violence will never serve anyone’s cause.
