In a first, road connecting Pulwama village gets macadamised

Pulwama: In a first of its kind, a road connecting Zahid Bagh village in Litter Tehsil of Pulwama district was macadamised by the authorities, thus putting an end t the decades-long miseries and sufferings of the people.

The residents of the village were very excited after seeing the vital road macadamised first time ever.

Habibullah, a local resident said that there are only two villages in Pulwama district, which are located on the other side of river Ranbi Ara and Zahid Bagh is one of them.

He said that both villages were ignored by the successive governments and officials hardly bother to visit the area.

Ghulam Muhammad, a 70-year-old man from the village said that he has never witnessed the road getting macadamised and it was for the first time that this road was macadamised.

Jahangir Ahmad, another local resident said that they had knocked the door of every higher authority several times in this regard but nothing was done on the ground.

He said that since last two years, they have continuously taken with this issue with higher ups of Roads and Building department and finally the road was macadamised.

Ahmad added that this road is connecting many villages of Pulwama and Shopian with each other.

Locals of the area thanked Chief Engineer R&B, District Magistrate Pulwama and Executive Engineer R&B district Shopian for fulfilling their demand.

They have also appealed them to repair inner road of the village as well which are lying in dilapidated conditions.
