COVID-19: Of 86 new cases in J&K, 48 reported in Srinagar

Srinagar: For the first time after about a week less than three digit new cases of COVID positive were reported in the Jammu and Kashmir during the past 24 hours.

There was no COVID positive case in Shopian for the third consecutive day on Monday.

An official spokesman said Monday evening that in Union Territory (UT) of Jammu and Kashmir, 86 new positive cases have been reported during the past 24 hours. This is for the first time after over a week less than three digit cases were reported on September 6 when the number was 93 in J&K.

He said out of the 86 cases, 78 were from Kashmir valley and eight from Jammu division.

Moreover 124 more COVID-19 patients have recovered— 21 from Jammu Division and 103 from Kashmir Division during the past 24 hours. No new confirmed case of mucormycosis has been reported today, he said adding till now a total of 46 confirmed cases have been reported in the UT.

Srinagar continued to witness highest number of positive cases in the valley. The number was 48, including 9 travelers followed by Badgam nine, Baramulla eight, Ganderbal five, Kupwara three, Bandipora and Kulgam two each and Pulwama one.
