Leh: Ladakh will have its own exclusive center for Civil Services Exam, Union Minister Jitendra Singh said on Thursday, while for the Common Eligibility Test being held next year, there will be two centers in Leh and Kargil.
Inaugurating a two-day workshop on Capacity Building for Ladakh Officials at Leh, the Minister said, the historic decision taken by PM Narendra Modi on August 5, 2019 will bring all new possibilities to Ladakh.
“For the convenience of the youth aspirants, Ladakh will have its own exclusive centre for holding of Civil Service Exam, which will be set up at Leh and will become functional next month with the holding of Civil Services (Preliminary) Exam. Similarly, the Common Eligibility Test, planned through the recently constituted National Recruitment Agency, will have one Centre each in the districts of Leh and Kargil respectively,” the Minister said according to an official statement.
The Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination 2021 is scheduled to be held on 10th of October this year.
Singh also said that ISRO is working on setting up a Night Sky Planetarium at the Indian Astronomical Observatory, located in Hanle near Leh. He also said the CSIR will soon have an exclusive plan to promote, process and do the business of the famous Ladakh fruit called Leh berry.
Speaking at another event on Capacity Building Programme for the Senior Officers of Jammu & Kashmir Administrative Service (JKAS), the Minister said after the new constitutional arrangement came into existence and following the creation of Union Territory, several governance reforms have been introduced in Jammu & Kashmir, which was not so earlier.
He said the Prevention of Corruption Act of India with its amended form was introduced in Jammu & Kashmir last year, which will be more effective in curbing corruption. (UNI)
