Kupwara: A recreation barrack of paramilitary CRPF was partially damaged in a fire incident on Wednesday afternoon. While the fire was brought under control, there was no loss of life or injury reported in the incident, official sources said.
They said fire broke out in the recreation barrack of CRPF’s 162 battalion at Zangli, behind district police lines Kupwara, this afternoon. The blaze was brought under control by CRPF personnel even as there was partial damage to the structure.
A police official said that short circuit is said to have caused the fire. However the official said investigations are underway. There was no loss of life or injury in the incident.
Commandant of the unit said that fire erupted at around 2:30 p.m. and was brought under control.
“There was damage to furniture etc. However there was loss of life or injury in the incident. There was no damage to any weaponry or ammunition in the incident either,” he said. (GNS)
