Rahul Gandhi likely to visit Jammu next week: Rajni Patil

Jammu: All India Congress Committee Incharge J&K Affairs Rajni Patil on Sunday said that former Congress President Rahul Gandhi is likely to visit Jammu next week.

Chairing a party meeting here, Patil said Gandhi will straight way visit the holy Cave Shrine of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi and on his return will later interact with the important functionaries of Blocks, Districts, Congress representatives of PRIs, leaders of frontal wings of the party during his two days stay at Jammu.

He shall interact with the members of extended Working Committee including former Ministers, Legislators, AICC, PCC and DCC delegates and heads of frontal wings.

Patil said that based on the inputs about the proposed visit, she discussed the preparatory arrangements to be made to finalize the schedule of visit. She told them that she has come to take their views and suggestions before finalizing the detail of the schedule of the proposed visit of Gandhi.

She said that Gandhi was scheduled to visit Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh earlier last month but could not spare the so many days in one go, due to preoccupations during the parliamentary session.

He visited for two days to Srinagar last month during which he visited the holy shrines of Mata Khir Bhawani and Hazaratbal, besides holdings interactions with the party leaders and activists.

JKPCC Chief G A Mir said that Rahul Gandhi will take the feedback from the ground about the state of affairs and the feelings of people after disbanding and downgrading of the historical state into UT and current spell of central rule.Ā (UNI)
