New dawn of industrial development begins in J&K: Amit Shah

New Delhi: A new dawn of industrial development has begun for Jammu and Kashmir, Home Minister Amit Shah said on Tuesday as he launched a web portal for registration under ‘New Central Sector Scheme’ for Industrial Development of Jammu and Kashmir.

“A new dawn of investment and industrial development will begin in Jammu and Kashmir with the launch of this portal,” Amit Shah said after launching the portal through video conferencing.

“Today, the most attractive industrial policy of the country is here. Under this policy of the Modi Government, investment of more than Rs 50,000 crore will come in Jammu and Kashmir and under this, there will be all-inclusive, all-round development of Jammu and Kashmir,” Shah said.

He said an open environment was created, and employment opportunities were created for Jammu and Kashmir after the abrogation of Article 370 by the Narendra Modi government.

“Industrial development for India, a good environment for it, and a policy that is competitive with the World, is the hallmark of the Modi government,” he said.

He said schemes like One Nation, One Ration Card, Ujjwala, Direct Benefit, Saubhagya and many other schemes have been fully implemented in Jammu and Kashmir, adding that the Jammu and Kashmir government will fulfill the ambitious target of providing tap water to every household before August 15, 2022.

He also said that Hindi and English have been given official language status along with Urdu and Dogri, which will make the functioning of the government smooth.

He also said that Panchayat elections being held in Jammu and Kashmir without any bullets being fired was an achievement.

Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal, Minister of State for Science and Technology Jitendra Singh, Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai, Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Somprakash, and Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Anupriya Patel also attended the event, along with Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha and Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla.
