‘Concrete policy framed to formally support annual Urs’ at religious places’
Srinagar: The government has come up with a concrete policy to formally support all the religious places where annual ‘Urs’ are taking place in Jammu and Kashmir, Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir P K Pole said on Wednesday.
Talking to reporters on the side-lines of a function here at Rajbagh, Pole said that Kashmir is famous not for its different language, but for different culture, civilization and other things.
He said that the people irrespective of their religious belief have faith in the Sufi saints here and thus visit these sacred places.
“Therefore, the government in order to promote these places, has come with a concrete policy through which a formal support will be extended to the annual Urs at these places,” Pole said.
Asked about the third Covid-19 wave, Pole said that the virus at present is under control, but the health experts have predicted its possibility.
According to the experts, the possible third wave can only be prevented by following Covid Appropriate Behaviour (CAB) in letter and spirit. (KNO)
