BJP leader among 5 injured in suspected grenade blast

Jammu: A Bhartiya Janata Party leader was among five suffered injuries, two of them critically, in a suspected grenade blast on Thursday evening in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Police said that five persons, including a BJP youth leader, suffered injuries this evening in a suspected grenade attack.

“Blast occurred late evening near Khandlu Bridge, a few kilometers short of Rajouri, in which five persons have suffered injuries,” the police added.

They said that BJP youth leader are among the injured, adding: “the injured have been rushed to the hospital”.

Earlier, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Jammu Zone, Mukesh Singh confirmed the blast.

The area has been cordoned off and searches are in progress, they added. (UNI)
