Bandipora roads in shambles, locals seek intervention

Bandipora: The inhabitants of Nadihal, Papachan and Nasoou areas of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Thursday have complained that the road in their areas is in shambles.

Locals while complaining about the issue said that the people of the areas are facing immense hardships due to the dilapidated road condition which is passing through their area and connecting with the main market Bandipora.

They said the road from Nadihal connecting with main market was in pathetic condition especially at Nasoou and Papachan from many years and is dotted with potholes, causing difficulties for the commuters.

The locals also accused the administration of failing to macadamize the vital road.

“The roads have craters and during rains, the driving becomes difficult and risky,” Masroor Ahmad, a local said, adding that patients and students are the worst hit and often reach their destinations late.

“Although the road was developed over the years but is waiting for macadamisation for the last one year,” Basit, a local from Papachan said.

The locals demanded that the concerned officials must take note of the grievance and issue necessary directions in this regard. (KNO)
