3 CRPF men injured in Chadoora grenade attack

Srinagar, April 24: Two militants were killed minutes after they abducted a Railway policeman at Yaripora in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Friday, police said.
Inspector General of Police Kashmir Range, Vijay Kumar told GNS that militants abducted a Railway policeman at Shirpora village following which an immediate cordon was launched by a joint team of police and army. Soon militants were chased at Kharpora leading to a brief gunfight in which both of them were killed while a policeman was injured. “The joint team successfully rescued the abducted cop,” the IGP added.

Meanwhile, three paramilitary CRPF men were injured in a militant attack at Duniwari area of Chadoora in central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Friday evening.
Reports reaching GNS said that the militants lobbed a grenade inside the camp of CRPF 29 battalion at Duniwari area of Chadoora. In the attack, three CRPF troopers suffered injuries, they said.
The injured trio has been identified as Inspector Mayesh Chand, constable G Prakesh Rao and constable K Sirnu. The paramilitary men also fired some shots in retaliation. However, there was no causality reported to the other side.
CRPF Spokesperson Pankaj Singh told GNS that three jawans including an officer of Inspector rank suffered minor injuries and their condition is stable.
Soon after the attack, the paramilitary men along with additional reinforcement of SOG and army launched a cordon-and-search operation in the area.
