140 detention orders revoked after COVID-19 outbreak

Srinagar, Apr 14: In a significant development, the Jammu & Kashmir government on Tuesday morning revoked Public Safety Act (PSA) detention orders of 41 persons languishing in different jails of Uttar Pradesh.
Highly placed told Kashmir News Observer that government this morning revoked PSA detention orders of 41 persons languishing in different jails of Uttar Pradesh.
Under the Public Safety Act, the government is empowered to revoke detention orders passed by district magistrates.
With this, the number of PSA detention orders revoked in the past one month has reached 140. On Monday, the government had revoked PSA detention orders of 36 persons languishing in different jails of J&K on Monday.
