7 non-locals test positive, DC Sgr asks people not to panic

Srinagar, April 10: Srinagar has become a high-risk zone as the summer capital has recorded over 51 positive cases since the outbreak of pandemic on March 18, a local news agency KINS reported on Friday.
With eight fresh cases being reported today itself, seven of them non-local visitors, fear has gripped entire district again.
Official figures suggest that in Srinagar alone, 51 people have tested positive so far. The figure is highest in all districts in Jammu and Kashmir.
Even though Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Dr Shahid Iqbal Chaudary tweeted: “Eight positive cases today sounds panicky but it’s not. This is a classic tracing success story: Found a group of non-locals visitors, acted fast, quarantined. 7/8 fare from group, 8th their local contact. Please help report.”
Meanwhile, another local news KNT quoting sources reported that a group of 7 visitors from Kerala, part of Tableegi Jamat were present in Srinagar. A local youth from Chatabla area was in touch with them. As the administration came to know about it, they were quarantined and today their tests were found positive.
