Mehbooba shifted to her Gupkar residence; Detention under PSA continues

Srinagar, Apr 7: Jammu and Kashmir government on Tuesday shifted the former chief minister and president of Peoples Democratic Party, Mehbooba Mufti from a government accommodation, turned into a subsidiary jail, at M A Road here to her Fairview residence at Gupkar Road in Srinagar.
A government order said that her detention under Public Safety Act would continue only her place of lodgement has been changed. Her Fairview residence has been declared as a subsidiary jail.
Mehbooba has been under detention since August 5, 2019, when Centre announced its decision to bifurcate the erstwhile J&K State into two Union Territories and revoked its special status.
