Srinagar, Sept 18: Jammu and Kashmir Police Chief Nalin Prabhat on Friday congratulated the newly selected candidates for the J&K Police Gazetted Services and reminded them that joining the force brings significant responsibility and demanding challenges.
Speaking to the selected candidates on the sidelines of a function at Lok Bhavan in Srinagar, the DGP said their selection was a proud moment for them and their families, while stressing that police service requires commitment and readiness to face difficult situations.
Prabhat said the candidates would undergo training to prepare them for the responsibilities of the uniform and equip them to deal with challenging situations during their service.
He wished the newly selected officers success in their careers and said he would interact with them in detail after they join the police academy.
He said wearing the uniform was not an easy task and urged the young officers to discharge their duties with honesty, loyalty and patriotism.
“The uniform is our responsibility. We have to work with honesty, loyalty and patriotism while wearing this uniform,” he said.
The DGP said the officers would face various challenges during their service, including situations that could put their lives at risk.
He assured them that training at the police academy would prepare them to meet every challenge and emerge stronger, both mentally and physically.
“You will be trained in such a way that you will be able to stand the test on every front, mentally as well as physically,” Prabhat said.
He said he would interact with the officers in greater detail after they joined the academy and wished them success in their new journey of service in years to come.
The Jammu and Kashmir Government has appointed 29 candidates as Deputy Superintendents of Police (DySPs) in the J&K Police (Gazetted) Service through direct recruitment under the Combined Competitive Examination-2024.
The appointments were sanctioned under Government Order No. 1521-JK (GAD) of 2026, issued by the General Administration Department on September 15, following recommendations of the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission. (KINS/ IANS)
