ANANTNAG, SEPTEMBER 6: A 36-year-old man was killed in a hit-and-run accident at Fisheries Kokernag in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district, officials said on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Tariq Ahmad Kalas, son of Mohammad Shareef Kalas, a resident of Shalnard, Lisser, Kokernag.
According to officials, an unknown vehicle hit Kalas late Saturday night, leaving him critically injured.
He was immediately shifted to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Kokernag, where doctors declared him brought dead.
Police have taken cognizance of the incident and launched an investigation to identify and trace the vehicle involved in the accident. (GNS)
