Srinagar, August 27: Doon School Srinagar officially inaugurated its highly anticipated annual literary event, Doon Book Odyssey – Annual Book Fair 2026, Thursday. The week-long celebration of reading opened to an enthusiastic response from students, faculty, and school leadership.
The ceremonial ribbon-cutting was led by the principal, alongside the academic coordinators, marking the commencement of a vibrant week dedicated to literature, learning, and discovery. Following the inauguration, students crowded the exhibition venue, eagerly browsing through an extensive collection of titles spanning fiction, science, history, poetry, and children’s literature.
Adding to the significance of the opening day, the school’s chairman visited the fair, interacting with students and exploring the diverse range of participating publishers and stalls. The chairman commended the initiative for fostering a lifelong reading culture and intellectual curiosity among the student body.
Designed to encourage independent reading habits and introduce young minds to new genres and authors, the book fair features dedicated interactive corners, storytelling sessions, and curated book recommendations.
Book Odyssey 2026 will remain open to students , parents and faculty throughout the week, concluding with special literary activities and collaborative book-review sessions.
