Ganderbal, Aug 05: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Jatin Kishore on Wednesday chaired a review meeting to assess the preparedness for the forthcoming Census-2027, with special focus on planning and arrangements for enumeration in the snow-bound areas of the district.
During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed the roadmap for conducting the Census exercise in the district and emphasized the need for meticulous planning to ensure smooth, accurate and timely enumeration in all areas.
The DC directed all Tehsildars to complete the preparatory activities well in advance and ensure that all logistical, administrative and manpower requirements are put in place for effective implementation of the Census operations. He stressed the importance of maintaining close coordination among all field functionaries for seamless execution of the exercise.
The Deputy Commissioner further directed the Tehsildars of snow-bound areas to identify locations requiring advance planning and prepare a detailed strategy for timely completion of Census activities before the onset of winter. He emphasized that special attention should be given to ensure that no household is left uncovered.
Stressing the importance of quality data, the DC impressed upon all officers to maintain accuracy, transparency and adherence to the Census guidelines during every stage of the exercise.
He reiterated that Census-2027 is a vital national exercise and called upon all concerned officers to work with dedication and close coordination to ensure its successful conduct in the district.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Tehsildars and District Coordinator, Census.
