SRINAGAR, July 28: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Tuesday visited the Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) here to inquire about the condition of the 39 Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra pilgrims injured in a road accident at Ganiwan in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district earlier in the day.
The Lieutenant Governor met the injured pilgrims undergoing treatment at the hospital and wished them a speedy recovery. A team of doctors briefed him on the medical care being provided to the injured.
During the visit, Sinha directed the hospital administration to ensure the highest standard of medical care for the injured pilgrims. He also instructed senior officials to extend all necessary assistance and personal care to the devotees and to prioritize arrangements for their safe return to their hometowns after recovery.
In a post on X, the Lieutenant Governor said all 39 injured pilgrims admitted to SKIMS were in stable condition and responding well to treatment.
“By the grace of Baba Amarnath, all 39 Yatris admitted this morning are currently in stable condition and responding well to treatment. I have directed the hospital administration to provide the highest standard of medical care to the injured,” he said.
He added that senior officials had been instructed to ensure all necessary assistance and personal care for the pilgrims and to make arrangements for their safe return home once they recover.
