The incredible sound of school bells can once again be heard in the valleys of Kashmir.
This signifies a big step forward because all educational institutions in the region are reopening their doors after 21 days summer holidays that challenged parents’ patience and students’ eagerness to start their studies again because the closure was prolonged once again due to the heat wave and terrible weather warnings.
While it was necessary for the safety of children, it’s not easy to get used to the silence in empty school buildings these last couple of weeks.
Education is one of the important elements of our society, and we miss it very much.
Minister and the representatives of the department of education deserve gratitude for their smart approach and ability to make decisions considering students’ preferences.
Put another way, their actions led to the demonstration of responsible leadership and caring attitude toward the youth in the region.
The decision about the prolongation of holiday period was not a burden but a move aimed at saving lives of kids from hazardous weather conditions.
Now we are enjoying the view of kids in new uniforms and happy faces of them looking out of windows of buses.
This comeback means much more than just the continuation of the curricula; it signifies the return to normal life, order, and optimism.
It is a moment when the teachers will be able to enjoy the process of teaching again, the parents will come back to their routines, and the students will reunite with their classmates and numerous opportunities to learn something new.
We call upon everyone to help with the process of adapting.
Do not turn the first days from the school year into the days of only hard work; use this time for adaptation and establishing emotional contacts with students.
