New Delhi, July 25: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will interact with more than 400 youth participants of the Viksit Vibrant Village Programme 2026 via video conferencing on Sunday (July 26) at 4:30 pm, marking the culmination of a month-long initiative aimed at connecting young people with India’s border villages.
The participants, representing every State and Union Territory, were selected through a nationwide online quiz competition that drew over three lakh entries. They took part in the programme organised by MY Bharat in two phases from June 4 to June 30, covering 74 Vibrant Border Villages across Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
The programme is part of the Centre’s efforts to realise Prime Minister Modi’s vision of treating border villages as the “first villages” of the country and integrating them into the journey towards Viksit Bharat.
During their stay, participants lived with local communities and took part in Swachhta drives, awareness campaigns on government schemes, youth meetings, cultural exchange programmes, tree plantation, Mini Model Panchayat simulations, interactions with artisans and visits to strategically important institutions.
According to the government, the initiative provided participants with first-hand exposure to the socio-economic conditions, cultural heritage and development aspirations of frontier regions while promoting national integration and community participation.
