New Delhi, July 16: The National Testing Agency (NTA) on Thursday declared the results of the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (Undergraduate) 2026, with 11.21 lakh candidates qualifying for admission to undergraduate medical, dental, AYUSH and allied courses across the country.
The results have been announced in time to facilitate the counselling process and admissions to medical colleges. Candidates can access their scorecards on the official website, neet.nta.nic.in.
Nearly 20 lakh candidates appeared for the examination, which was conducted on June 21, 2026, at 5,440 examination centres spread across 551 cities in India and 14 cities abroad. The examination was held in 13 languages.
According to the NTA, more than 58 per cent of the qualified candidates are women, while candidates from all 36 States and Union Territories have secured qualifying marks.
The agency said 138 candidates scored above 690 marks out of a maximum of 720. More than 93 per cent of these top performers appeared for NEET for the first time, while 99 per cent were between 17 and 19 years of age.
The Top 17 rank holders, who secured more than 705 marks, belong to Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Bihar, Tamil Nadu and Telangana. Overall, the 138 top rankers represent 66 cities across the country.
Qualified candidates were recorded from every State and Union Territory, ranging from over 1.7 lakh in Uttar Pradesh to 43 in Lakshadweep. Among the State toppers were Jigmet Yangchan Lamo (Ladakh) with 530 marks, Dhruv Tripathi (Andaman and Nicobar Islands) with 606 marks and Fahmida Anees (Lakshadweep) with 573 marks.
The NTA has also published the list of All India Rank holders, State toppers, category-wise toppers, cut-off marks and language-wise participation details on its official website.
