JAMMU, July 15: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday said the inclusion of Rajouri’s historic Bhairav Yatra in the National Inventory of Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) of India will help preserve the region’s rich cultural traditions, promote research and cultural exchange, and boost sustainable heritage tourism.
Congratulating the Rajouri District Administration and the Department of Culture, J&K, Sinha described the recognition as a “proud moment” for Rajouri and said it would go a long way in documenting, preserving and celebrating the area’s deep spiritual and cultural roots.
In a post on X, the Lieutenant Governor said the national honour validated the efforts of generations of devotees who had kept the tradition alive and would strengthen Rajouri’s unique cultural footprint on the national stage.
He also congratulated the Rajouri District Administration and the Department of Culture for “turning this dream into a reality.”
Sinha said the recognition would open new avenues for research, cultural exchange and sustainable heritage tourism while helping preserve the district’s intangible cultural heritage for future generations.
