Wild cannabis destroyed

Srinagar, July 14: As part of its sustained commitment to a drug-free society under the Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan, J&K Police in Baramulla conducted a wild cannabis (bhang) destruction drive at Check Jamal Mir, Palhallan, in coordination with the Masjid Committee.

During the operation, naturally grown wild cannabis spread over approximately 2.5 kanals of State land was identified and destroyed to prevent its misuse for the illicit production and trafficking of narcotic substances.

The drive reflects the close coordination between J&K Police and community stakeholders in combating the drug menace and safeguarding the youth from the harmful effects of narcotics. Police remains steadfast in its resolve to eliminate the cultivation and misuse of narcotic substances and urges the public to actively support the fight against drugs by reporting any such illegal activities to the nearest police station.
