Srinagar, July 10: Continuing its sustained campaign under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan, police in Pulwama carried out wild cannabis destruction drives at different locations to curb the illegal growth and availability of narcotic substances.
Police Post Newa, in coordination with Revenue officials, the Numberdar, volunteers, and media representatives, conducted a destruction drive at Malwari, where wild cannabis plants growing on Government land were identified and destroyed on the spot.
In a separate operation, Police Post Lassipora, with the active involvement of civil society members, conducted a wild cannabis destruction drive at Petipora Lassipora, during which wild cannabis growing in the area was identified and destroyed.
Police remains committed to sustained preventive action and community participation under the Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan to build a drug-free society.
Continuing its sustained efforts under the ongoing anti-drug campaign, Police in Baramulla carried out wild cannabis (bhang) destruction drive at Wanigam.
During the operation, wild cannabis spread over approximately 3 kanals of land was identified and destroyed on the spot, thereby preventing its possible misuse for the production and circulation of narcotic substances. The drive was conducted as part of the proactive measures being undertaken by Police to curb the menace of drugs and eliminate the sources of illicit narcotics.
Police remains committed to making the district drug-free through sustained enforcement, preventive measures, and active public participation. Members of the public are urged to share information regarding the illegal cultivation, production, or trafficking of narcotic substances. The identity of informants will be kept strictly confidential.
