Youth participation key to fight drug abuse: AECO

DIPR’s Cultural Unit organises awareness programme

SRINAGAR, JUNE 20: As part of the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan, the Cultural Unit of the Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR), Srinagar, organised an awareness programme at Higher Secondary School (HSS) Palpora, Srinagar, aimed at sensitising students about the harmful effects of drug abuse.

During the programme, students delivered thoughtful and informative speeches highlighting the dangers of substance abuse and the importance of adopting a healthy and responsible lifestyle.

Adding a creative dimension to the awareness campaign, artists of Kashmir Kala Manch presented a thematic short play depicting the adverse social and personal consequences of drug addiction. The performance was widely appreciated by the audience for its powerful message and effective presentation.

Speaking on the occasion, the Cultural Officer Kashmir and AECO stressed the need for active youth participation in the fight against drug abuse. They urged students to become ambassadors of change and contribute towards making Jammu and Kashmir a drug-free society.

The Principal of HSS Palpora expressed gratitude to the DIPR Cultural Unit for organising the programme and appreciated the department’s efforts in spreading awareness among students. The Principal also highlighted the importance of collective action in addressing the menace of drug abuse.

At the conclusion of the programme, participants were felicitated by the Cultural Unit, DIPR, in recognition of their enthusiastic participation and contribution to the success of the event.
