Srinagar, June 17: Continuing its sustained campaign against drug abuse, J&K Police in Anantnag has registered six separate cases in a single day after six individuals tested positive for drug consumption.
Acting on specific inputs and during routine checks, police teams across the district apprehended the individuals under suspicious circumstances. They were subjected to medical examination using Rapid Drug Detection Kits. The test reports of all six individuals returned positive for drug consumption. Accordingly, six separate FIRs have been registered under Section 8/27 of the NDPS Act at respective police stations. Further investigation into each case is underway.
Police reaffirms its zero-tolerance policy against drug abuse and trafficking. The district police is committed to identifying and taking strict legal action against drug abusers as well as peddlers to safeguard the youth and society from the menace of narcotics. The general public is once again requested to come forward and share any credible information regarding drug peddling or substance abuse in their areas. The identity of informants will be kept confidential.
