DG CRPF reviews Yatra security

Srinagar, June 11: CRPF Director General Gyanendra Pratap Singh on Thursday reviewed security preparations for the upcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra and stressed the need for proactive measures to ensure the smooth and peaceful conduct of the pilgrimage.

Chairing a high-level security review meeting at the CRPF Group Centre in Srinagar on the final day of his three-day visit to Kashmir, Singh assessed the overall security situation and directed officers to maintain a high level of alertness.

The discussions focused on strengthening security along the Yatra routes, intensifying counter-militancy operations and maintaining peace across the Valley. The CRPF chief also visited the Baltal base camp to inspect preparedness and interact with security personnel deployed for the annual pilgrimage.

The Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra is scheduled to commence on July 3 and conclude on August 28. Around 50,000 CRPF personnel, along with J&K Police and other Central Armed Police Forces, will be deployed as part of the multi-layered security arrangement. (KINS)
