2 held with heroin, charas

Srinagar, June 11: Continuing its relentless drive against drug trafficking under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan, J&K Police in Pulwama arrested two drug peddlers and recovered heroin and charas-like contraband substances from their possession.

A police party deployed at a naka checking established near Hanfia Model School, Lajoora intercepted a motorcycle bearing registration No. PB08CC-8542. During the search, approximately 8 grams of heroin and approximately 3.5 grams of charas-like substance were recovered from the possession of the two occupants. The accused were identified as Prince Sharma son of Bishaki Ram resident of Akhnoor, Jammu and Jagjeet Singh son of Mashoor Singh resident of Chattergam, Tral, Awantipora. Both were arrested on the spot and the motorcycle used in the commission of the offence was also seized. Accordingly, FIR No. 112/2026 under Sections 8/20, 21, and 29 of the NDPS Act has been registered and investigation has been taken up to ascertain the source of the contraband and identify any further links in the narcotics network.

J&K Police remains committed to its zero-tolerance policy against drug trafficking and continues to take stringent action against those involved in narcotics-related activities.
