Night traffic halt on NH-44 from today

Jammu, Jun 11: Traffic Police Jammu on Thursday announced temporary night traffic restrictions on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) to facilitate road relaying works at multiple locations, including the Nachlana stretch in Ramban district.

According to an advisory issued by the office of the Senior Superintendent of Police, Traffic City Jammu, traffic movement from Jammu towards Srinagar and Ramban will remain suspended from 10 pm to 5 am on the nights of June 12-13, June 14-15 and June 16-17.

The restrictions have been imposed following a communication from the Additional District Magistrate, Ramban, to ensure the safe and timely execution of road improvement works on the highway.

Traffic authorities said no vehicle, irrespective of category, will be allowed to proceed from Jammu towards Srinagar or Ramban after 4 pm on the scheduled dates. Commuters have been advised to avoid travel during the restriction period and check the latest traffic updates before undertaking journeys on June 13, 15 and 17.

Transporters carrying perishable goods and livestock have also been asked to plan their consignments accordingly to avoid inconvenience.

The Traffic Police said the temporary restrictions are necessary to ensure public safety and facilitate the smooth completion of the highway improvement works.
