Nasha Mukt J&K: LG to lead Anantnag Padyatra on Saturday

ANANTNAG, MAY 07: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha will lead the Mega Padyatra under the 100-day Nasha Mukt Jammu Kashmir campaign in Anantnag on May 9.

In this regard, the Deputy Commissioner(DC) Anantnag, Dr. Bilal Mohiuddin Bhat chaired a high-level meeting at Dak Bungalow, Khanabal, to review and finalise the arrangements for upcoming VVIP Mega Padyatra to be held in the district on 09 May under 100 Day Nasha Mukt J&K Campaign.

ADCs, CEO PDA, SEs PWD & Hydraulics, CPO, ACR, ACD, SDMs, DFOs, College Principals, CMO, CAO, CAHO, district and sectoral officers and other officials attended the meeting.

During the meeting, the DC issued strict instructions to all heads of departments to execute their assigned tasks seamlessly with the highest degree of synergy and coordination so the event is organised in a smooth and successful manner. He directed the departments to meticulously plan at micro level keeping in consideration the entry routes, mobilisation strategy and exit points so that the event is held in the best possible way.

The DC said that the Padyatra is an important facet of the 100-day intensive campaign in which the top dignitaries will visit the district, encouraging all stakeholders and amplifying the message of the campaign. He emphasized the need for making the rally inclusive and vibrant through broad-based participation from all sections of the society.

Dr. Bilal underscored the importance of involving social organizations, NGOs, professionals, youth, students and volunteers, progressive farmers, SHGs, civil society members, associations, public representatives, government institutions, and other stakeholders to deliver a strong and unified message against substance abuse.

On the occasion, the transport plan was discussed in detail and the departments were asked to designate Nodal Officers to coordinate for proper entry and exit of the respective participants.

Reviewing the arrangements, the DC directed the departments that all requisite facilities and logistics be installed in advance to ensure seamless conduct of the event. He directed the ULBs to install adequate number of mobile toilets for the convenience of the participants. Instructions were also issued to the concerned agencies to ensure provision of drinking water, medical care and other essential facilities at the venue as well as along the route.

Directions were issued for proper preparation of the venue and the route in conformity with the SOPs besides establishing a District Control Room in coordination with police to redress any emergent issues immediately.

The Nodal Officers appointed by the district administration were directed to ensure the assigned tasks are accomplished in a seamless manner. They were further instructed to visit the venue well in advance for proper rehearsal so that the preparations are given a final shape.

The high profile event marks a major milestone in the district’s ongoing 100-Day Nasha Mukt Abhiyan, bolstering the district’s fight against drug abuse.
