Vivek Bali seeks Vande Bharat halt at Anantnag

Srinagar, May 1: Vivek Bali, State President of Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) on Friday appealed to the Union Railway Minister to introduce a scheduled halt of the Vande Bharat Express at Anantnag Railway Station.

Bali as per a statement said that Anantnag is a major commercial and tourism hub of South Kashmir and serves as a prime location connecting various key tourist destinations and important business centers across the region. “Due to its strategic importance, the area experiences a high volume of passenger movement, including tourists, traders, students, and daily commuters.”

He emphasized that despite its significance, the absence of a Vande Bharat Express halt at Anantnag Railway Station is causing inconvenience to the public. “Introducing a stop at this crucial station would greatly improve accessibility, reduce travel time, and provide modern rail connectivity to a large section of the population,” he said.

Bali further highlighted that Anantnag acts as a gateway to several prominent tourist spots and plays a vital role in boosting tourism and local economy. “A halt for Vande Bharat Express at this station will not only benefit residents but will also strengthen tourism infrastructure and commercial activities in Jammu & Kashmir,” he added.

He urged the Railway Ministry to consider this genuine public demand on priority and take immediate steps to include Anantnag Railway Station as a designated halt in the Vande Bharat Express route.

SBSP remains committed to raising public concerns and ensuring development-oriented initiatives for the people of Jammu & Kashmir, the statement reads.
