Vijaypur, Oct 21: Police Technical Training Institute (PTTI) Vijaypur observed Police Commemoration Day on Tuesday to pay homage to the police martyrs, who laid down their precious lives for the national security and sovereignty of the country.
On this occasion, police contingents participated in the Commemoration Day Parade.
While speaking on the occasion, Ranjit Singh Sambyal, Principal PTTI Vijaypur, briefly explained the history behind observing the Police Commemoration Day and told that every year Police Commemoration Day is being celebrated across the country in the memory of the police martyrs.
Principal PTTI Vijaypur read over the names of (191) police personnel including (14) police officers/officials of J&K who attained martyrdom while fighting for the country during the past one year.
On this occasion, all staff and respectable citizens/retd Police personnel of the area laid floral wreaths and showered flowers at the Martyr’s Smark (Samadhi) at the Institute.
