Srinagar: A couple from Umerabad HMT was hit by a speeding car near Noora Hospital in Srinagar on Thursday evening, leaving the woman dead and her husband critically injured.
The victims, identified as Fahmeeda (50) and her husband Bashir Ahmad (55), were crossing the road when the vehicle struck them.
They were immediately rushed to a hospital, where Fahmeeda died shortly after. Bashir Ahmad succumbed to his injuries on Friday morning.
Police said the driver has been arrested and the vehicle seized. Further investigation is underway.
