Srinagar, September 19: In a significant breakthrough, Police in Ganderbal on Friday said to have arrested an absconder who had been on the run for the past four years so as to evade legal proceedings.
The accused Zahoor Ahmad Lone son of Mohd Ramzan Lone resident of Preng Kangan, was wanted by the Hon’ble Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Rajouri in connection with a matter under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act. Despite repeated warrants, the accused continuously dodged arrest and avoided court appearances, a police spokesman said.
Acting with precision and professionalism, a dedicated police team from Police Station Kangan tracked down and apprehended the absconder on 18.09.2025. Subsequently, the accused was produced before the Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Rajouri for further legal action, police said.
Meanwhile, Police reiterated its firm commitment to uphold the rule of law and ensure that no offender escapes the hands of justice.
