Medical camp held at GMC Baramulla

BARAMULLA, SEPTEMBER 17: As part of the ongoing Sewa Parv celebrations, Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Baramulla, Javed Hassan Baig and Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Minga Sherpa today inaugurated a Free Medical and Screening Camp under the Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan at Government Medical College (GMC) Baramulla.
The camp was specially dedicated to women and children, providing free medical consultations, health check-ups, and screening services. On the occasion, nutritional kits were also distributed among TB patients as part of the government’s efforts to support patient care and recovery.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Baig said that such initiatives reflect the government’s priority to ensure accessible and quality healthcare for women, children, and other vulnerable sections of society. He appreciated the efforts of GMC Baramulla for organizing the programme and urged citizens to take maximum benefit from such healthcare initiatives.
In his remarks, Deputy Commissioner emphasized that special focus on maternal and child health is essential for building a strong and healthy community.
He reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to supporting such programmes and commended the medical fraternity for their dedicated services.
Earlier in the day, a live streaming session of the Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan launched by Prime Minister was organized at GMC Baramulla, which was attended by MLA Baramulla, Javed Hassan Baig; Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Minga Sherpa; Principal GMC Baramulla, Prof. Dr. Majid Jahangir; Chief Medical Officer, Dr. A.G. Raina; Medical Superintendent Associated Hospital GMC, other officers, faculty members, and medical students.
