Set to host wide range of activities

BANDIPORA, SEPTEMBER 16: As part of the Union Territory–level celebrations of Sewa Parv scheduled from 17th September to 2nd October 2025, district administration Bandipora is set to organize a wide range of activities to promote community service, public participation, and social responsibility across the district.
The observance of Sewa Parv will revolve around key themes of cleanliness, education, health, capacity building, cultural awareness, and social welfare.
District administration Bandipora has drawn up a comprehensive calendar of activities, including cleanliness drives in public spaces, community tree plantation, awareness on waste segregation, and campaigns against single-use plastic.
In addition, donation drives for underprivileged students, school beautification campaigns, and volunteering initiatives will be taken up under education-focused activities.
Special attention will be given to engagement with elderly and vulnerable groups through visits to old age homes, orphanages, and provision of assistive devices such as wheelchairs and hearing aids. The programme also includes health check-up camps, blood donation drives in coordination with hospitals and NGOs, and nutrition sessions under Poshan Abhiyan.
Awareness and capacity-building workshops will be held on government schemes (PM Kisan, Ayushman Bharat, Jan Dhan Yojana), organic farming, digital literacy, and welfare schemes application support. Cultural activities such as wall painting, essay, and slogan competitions on themes like ‘Spirit of Sewa’ will also form a key highlight of the celebrations.
Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Indu Kanwal Chib, has directed all departments to ensure active participation and convergence so that the initiative reaches every section of society. She called upon officers, PRIs, civil society members and volunteers to make the event a grand success and ensure maximum public participation.
