BARAMULLA, SEPTEMBER 10: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Minga Sherpa, today chaired a meeting of concerned officers at Dak Bungalow here to review and finalize arrangements for the upcoming Seva Parv, a nationwide initiative scheduled to be celebrated from September 17 to October 02, 2025.
The fortnight-long programme is aimed at strengthening citizen-centric governance by improving service delivery, enhancing awareness about public welfare schemes, and ensuring seamless access to essential services across the district.
During the meeting, DC directed the Assistant Commissioner Development and Executive Officers of various municipalities to launch Swachhata drives in all 402 panchayats and 93 urban wards of Baramulla. Additionally, community plantation drives and awareness campaigns on citizen services will be conducted simultaneously across these areas.
DC also instructed the School Education department to take up initiatives under the education-focused component of the programme, including school beautification drives and voluntary extra classes for students.
Emphasizing the importance of social outreach, DC instructed the Social Welfare department to engage with vulnerable sections of society, particularly by visiting old-age homes, interacting with elderly persons, and providing meals to the needy.
To strengthen health services during Seva Parv, Health department was directed to organize health check-up camps, blood donation drives across all blocks of the district.
Furthermore, DC stressed the need for awareness camps on flagship government beneficiary schemes, including PM-Kisan and Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana and directed the concerned departments to conduct financial literacy camps to educate citizens about welfare schemes and banking facilities.
DC underlined that Seva Parv provides an opportunity to bring governance closer to the people, ensuring inclusive development and active community participation. He called upon all departments to work in close coordination to make the programme impactful and beneficial for every section of society.
