Srinagar, Jun 27: Lauding the exceptional accomplishments of NCC (National Cadet Corps) cadets from Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday said their heroic efforts during ‘Operation Sindoor’ won many hearts.
Interacting with NCC cadets at the special national integration camp here, LG Sinha said, “The role of NCC is far beyond conventional military training.”
In a resounding tribute to the determination and patriotism of J&K youth, LG Sinha said, “Their service has brought immense pride not only to the region but to the entire nation.”
Referring to outstanding performances of the NCC cadets, LG Sinha said, “Over the past few years, NCC cadets from J&K and Ladakh have reached remarkable milestones. Among the standout achievers, Ekta Kumari from Jammu etched her name in history by leading the National Cadet Corps (NCC) parade on the occasion of Republic Day at the prestigious Kartavya Path in New Delhi, becoming a symbol of discipline, leadership, and girl empowerment. Similarly, from the heights of national honor to the peaks of the world, daughter of Ladakh, Abida Afreen, created history by scaling Mount Everest, displaying grit, resilience, and the spirit of adventure nurtured by NCC.”
“The role of NCC is far beyond conventional military training,” said LG Sinha. “It provides a vibrant platform for youth to grow into disciplined, responsible, and committed citizens. The cadets are trained not just to serve in uniform, but to serve society at large,” LG Sinha said.
The Lieutenant Governor highlighted the recent heroic efforts of NCC cadets during Operation Sindoor, launched in the aftermath of the Pahalgam terror attack. “Our NCC cadets rose to the occasion during difficult times. Beyond their selfless service in relief camps across border districts, they also proactively organized blood donation drives,” he said. “Through these commendable deeds, they have unequivocally elevated the prestige of NCC.”
LG Sinha praised the cadets for their spirit of volunteerism and social responsibility. “Every NCC cadet is a torchbearer of unity, discipline, and national integration. Their consistent contributions in times of both peace and crisis reflect the deep-rooted values of the organization,” he said.
