Drug peddler held in Pulwama: Police

Srinagar, February 08: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police in Pulwama on Saturday said to have arrested a drug peddler and recovered psychotropic substance from his possession.
A police party of Police Post Newa during patrolling at Parigam apprehended a suspicious person roaming in the area. During the search, a heroine-like substance weighing 11 grams was recovered from his possession. The accused has been identified as Solihat Bashir son of Bashir Ahmed Wani resident of Parigam and was subsequently arrested, a police spokesman said.
Accordingly, police said that a case under FIR number 33/25 under section 8/20-29 NDPS act stands registered in Police Station Pulwama and investigation has been set into motion.
“We urge the general public to come forward in fight against the drug menace and feel free to contact the nearest police station or PCR Pulwama if any drug peddling gets noticed in their area,” police said.
