BSF seizes 4 Pakistani drones, 1 kg heroin

New Delhi: BSF troopers, supported by advanced technical countermeasures and reliable intelligence inputs, successfully intercepted four Pakistani drones and two heroin consignments in a single day along the Punjab border, an official said on Monday.

“The recovered drones included two DJI AIR 3S and two DJI Mavic 3 Classic models, found in farming fields in Tarn Taran and Amritsar districts. Along with the drones, two consignments of heroin, weighing 541 grams and 750 grams were also intercepted,” a statement read.

The statement further mentioned that “BSF’s diligent efforts, supported by the Punjab Police, have once again thwarted the nefarious plans of cross-border narcotics syndicates, demonstrating their strong commitment to curbing the drug menace and securing the border against smuggling activities”.

The BSF is a central armed police force under the Ministry of Home Affairs.

It is responsible for guarding the country’s borders with Pakistan and Bangladesh.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday conveyed his greetings on the occasion of BSF Raising Day saying their vigilance and courage contribute to the safety and security of the country.

The Border Security Force celebrated its 60th Raising Day after it came into being in 1965.
