Srinagar: Regional Transport Officer (RTO) Kashmir has appealed to motorists, and pillion riders to adhere to helmet culture.
Regional Transport Officer Syed Shahnawaz Bukhari has issued a notice making helmets mandatory for both the driver and the pillion rider on two-wheelers.
The order notes that those violating the rules will be fined and action under law will be taken against them.
Pertinently, the enforcement agencies have tightened the noose on traffic violators after the deadly Tengpora road accident which left two students dead.
Due to strict rule and a ban on underage driving, the traffic pressure on Srinagar roads has diminished considerably. (CNS)
