Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir administration has constituted a committee to develop a comprehensive framework aimed at improving the governance of key tourist destinations in the Union Territory.
Sanction is hereby accorded to the constitution of Committee for preparing and suggesting a holistic framework for strengthening the governance mechanism of selected tourist destinations in Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir, reads an order issued by the Commissioner Secretary to the Government, Sanjeev Verma.
Administrative Secretary, Finance Department has bene appointed as the Chairperson while Administrative Secretary, Tourism Department is Member-Secretary, reads an order issued today.
Administrative Secretary, Housing and Urban Development Department, Administrative Secretary, Planning, Development and Monitoring Department, Administrative Secretary, Revenue Department, Administrative Secretary, Department of Law, Justices & Parliamentary Affairs. Representative of Department of Forest, Ecology & Environment (Not below the rank of Additional Secretary) will be the members of the committee, it reads.
The committee may co-opt any member, as required, and shall submit its report within a period of 45 days, it added.
The committee has been asked to prepare and suggest a roadmap along with holistic framework for strengthening the governance structures of selected Tourism Development Authorities.
