Kashmir to get rain, snow next week  

Srinagar: An independent weather forecaster today indicated that a fresh and significant Western disturbance is likely to impact Jammu and Kashmir from October 23 onwards.
According to various international weather models, good rainfall and snowfall are expected, with the season’s first snowfall predicted over the plains of Sonamarg, Gulmarg, Doodhpatri, and Peer Ki Gali from October 23 (60% probability), he said.
Apple farmers are advised to take precautions to safeguard their crops before October 23 due to the likelihood of a substantial wet spell.
The forecaster noted the Western disturbance is expected to affect the region from October 23 to 26 (55% probability). However, this forecast may change in the coming days, and further updates will be shared in the next 2 to 3 days.
