Srinagar: Rouf Bhat, former State Secretary and spokesperson for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Friday resigned from the party, expressing deep dissatisfaction with its treatment of dedicated workers.
In a statement, Bhat criticized the party’s preference for new entrants from influential lobbies over seasoned members who had remained committed during challenging times.
He lamented that this approach mirrors past mistakes that have contributed to the region’s current state.
Bhat, who has had a significant tenure with the PDP, expressed gratitude for the learning experiences but concluded that stepping away was the best course of action.
He extended his thanks to the party’s leadership, colleagues, and supporters.
