Srinagar: Ahead of the Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir, the Election Commission of India Friday transferred four Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs) in the Kashmir.
Imtiyaz Hussain has been appointed SSP Srinagar, replacing Ashish Misra; Zahid Malik is now SSP Baramulla, succeeding Gurinder Pal Singh; Ghulam Jeelani takes over as SSP Kupwara from Shobhit Saxena; and Ifroz Ahmad is the new SP Handwara, replacing Dawood Ayoub.
This move follows a major police reshuffle on August 16, where 33 IPS and JKPS officers were transferred in preparation for the elections and before the Model Code of Conduct came into effect.
