Srinagar: Police on Thursday said that it solved a burglary case in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district by arresting three accused “involved in the commission of crime”.
A police spokesman said that Police Station DH Pora received a written complaint from one person namely Mohammad Shabaan Naik son of Ghulam Qadir Naik, resident of Badijahlan, DH Pora stating therein that unknown thieves had stolen his livestock (five in number) during the intervening night of 30th June and Ist July 2024.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 83/2024 under section 303 sub-clause (2) BNS was registered at Police Station DH Pora and an investigation was initiated, he said.
“An investigation team headed by SHO Police Station DH Pora under the supervision of SDPO DH Pora was constituted. Acting swiftly, the investigating team with strenuous efforts and by using all available means zeroed in on 3 suspected persons. During questioning, they confessed their involvement in the commission of crime. They were arrested and a vehicle bearing registration no JK22-0598 used in the commission of crime has been seized,” the spokesman said, adding that on their disclosure, stolen property was recovered. Further investigation is going on and more recoveries are expected, they added.
