Srinagar, Feb 04: Vilgam Army Camp rescued a pregnant woman amid heavy snowfall from Khanbal to PHC Vilgam in North Kashmir’s Kupwara District.
The camp received a distress call from SHO Vilgam and Mushtaq Ahmed Gagi, the husband of the pregnant woman, Safoora Begum, requesting urgent rescue and medical evacuation of the pregnant lady who was in critical condition.
Due to heavy snowfall in the last two days, the road was completely blocked, and vehicle movement was very difficult.
Realizing the urgency of the situation, the rescue team and medics from Army Camp Kakroosa immediately responded to the distress call, risking their own safety while hiking for 7-8 km in 2 to 3 feet of snow in the middle of the night, leading to the hospital.
