Property of drug peddler attached

Srinagar, January 31:  In a relentless effort to curb the menace of drug peddling, the police in Kulgam have attached the property belonging to a notorious drug peddler.

identified as Bashir Ahmad Khanday, son of Mohd Sultan Khanday, resident of Nippora.

The attached property, including a double-storey residential house and cowshed, measures 1291.48 Sq.Ft valuing Rs 25,62,425 and 1139.5 Sq.Ft valuing Rs 67,8803, respectively.

This action has been taken under section 68-F(2) of the NDPS Act 1985.

The police explained that the property was identified as illegally acquired during the investigation/enquiry conducted by Kulgam police.

They stated that the property was prima facie acquired from illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances by the owner, who is involved in Case FIR number 148/2022 at Police Station Qazigund.
